Wings n' Things

My normal jewelry design practice is to start a piece, then get sidetracked with family life, or another project I want to try, so nothing really gets finished.  I have loads of pieces sitting around in varying degrees of completion.

The last couple of weeks I have been trying hard to focus only on the unfinished, and not to start anything totally new (with the exception of some custom orders).  Sooooo, finally, I have some new earrings to show!

First up, some components I unveiled on a BTW post a while back...I added some yummy peach moonstone briolettes and sterling embellished earwires.  I wore these last Saturday to my PWF workshop and got lots of compliments:)

These next ones are the only thing I have managed to complete from my virgin etching adventure!  More to come. I added faceted prehnite briolettes and rondells.

Last, but not least, we have handmade bezels (don't look too close) that I filled with some washi paper and Ice Resin.  I dangled peridot Swarovski teardrops for a totally tropical look!

That's all for now, but I have some very cool things in the works!  Thanks for stopping by :)

  3. I can attest to the beauty of your earrings and to the fact that you have a friend with the same studio tendencies as you do! I was just thinking to myself this week that if a jewelry artist were to inherit my studio ... and all the stuff that goes with it ... she (he) would be able to make a sizable sum from my unfinished projects. I knew that whoever the person was would be someone who would actually finish projects because no one could be as bad as me ... and maybe you!

  10. I am in love with those little bezels! The bright colors of the paper and stones really make them special. Kudos to you for focusing on the unfinished. I have a list of five things I need to make this weekend and zero are done. I got a total mental block while working on a project this morning and had to walk away. I kept adding more and more stuff to it and really it just wants to be simple. I don't know if I can let it be simple! So, I have to try again tomorrow.
    Take care!
