Got this message from Dave, over at Rings & Things! They are having a design challenge with some fab copper beads! Click on the link and find out the info!
I know I want some of those beads...I'm thinkin' enamel...yay'uh (yes, I am a geek and watch my 4th grader's fav tv shows)
Take the R&T challenge!
I just bought some renaissance wax and will be using a lot more copper...loved your project from the post below this one, and I saw flowers this week too! Whoo Hoo!
ReplyDeleteGreat beads!
ReplyDeleteMelissa, I bought a bunch of Rings 'n Things copper beads and they won't enamel. The solder that joins the two halves together has zinc in it. You should try to enamel them, of course, I'm giving you a heads up of what might happen.
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa, thanks so much for helping to get the word out about this design challenge! We definitely want as many participants as possible and to get 'em experimenting to see what works (and doesn't)...Thanks to Barbara for her comment about enameling too.
ReplyDelete:) Dave at Rings & Things
whose nationwide bead show tour is now in Texas & heading north...
I love the look of copper. They look so rustic and gorgeous, thanks for displaying this beaded copper necklace...looks out of the world to me.
ReplyDeleteGuess what, Melissa, your name has been picked! You get a Design Challenge pack of these brushed copper beads. I'll try emailing you as well, to get your postal address & send the beads right out to you :)
