My Bead Soup is finally done! (darn crock pot...)

Back in January I joined an event hosted by Lori Anderson over at Pretty Things..She paired up over 80 jewelry artists and we swapped beads...each packet had to include a focal, a nice clasp, and a few coordinating beads of our choice.  The rules were simple...create a piece of jewelry that used these components.

I was paired with Cassie Donlen of Glassbeadle.com.  Here are the lovely items she sent me...

At first glance, I thought this would be a piece of cake...but several ideas I had went straight down the drain!  I finally came up with a necklace that incorporated all the Cassie-made lampwork beads, and at least one each of the pretty glass beads she included.

Here's my "Flower Garden" necklace...

I created a woven flower out of the dagger beads, wrapped a few beads with a herringbone weave,  incorporated a fused, hammered and stamped fine silver ring, and added a double strand of sterling chain in 2 sizes.  The gorgeous hammered silver toggle she sent is placed on the side in full view because it is just too pretty for the back.

I would like to thank Lori for hosting this fun party...go click on the Bead Soup logo at the top of this post and check out the gorgeous pieces the other participants created...what a talented group!

Oh, and to see the gorgeous bracelet Cassie created out of the components I sent her, go click here!
